Grand Culinary Elegance in Fine Dining at The Manor at York Town

October 18, 2022

Artisan chef, Mark Kissinger, and Director of Culinary Services, Steve Betts, and The Manor’s culinary services team exceeded expectations in July and August with two special Chef’s Table events at The Manor at York Town in Jamison, PA. The Chef’s Table five-star elegant culinary experiences have been so popular that another Chef’s Table is being offered in October, with others to follow in the months ahead.

According to Manor resident, Gerry, who dined at the August Chef’s Table, “the meal could not have impressed us more if we had dined in Paris.”

Chef Mark thrilled residents with seasonal offerings that capitalized on fresh seafood and vegetables. In July, the menu included fresh lump crabmeat in a bisque soup, and heirloom tomatoes served with mozzarella and a light balsamic glaze. The main course was grilled medallions of lean, tender hanger steak paired with parmesan risotto topped with grilled asparagus. In August, the menu included crabmeat served atop chilled gazpacho soup with fresh shrimp. The main course was Lobster Thermidor served in a light puffed pastry with perfectly seasoned asparagus. For dessert, Manor resident Mary commented, “the molten lava cake oozed and wowed the guests” when it was served.

According to Amy Ryan, Dining Room Manager, “Many residents periodically enjoy an elegant, four course, fine dining experience in the more intimate group setting of the Private Dining Room at The Manor. Since they are so well received, we will continue offering these special culinary events every month.”

This fall, Chef Mark is again inspired by the season; serving Braised Red Wine Escargot for the first course, and wild field greens with a Tomato Confit, served with a champagne vinaigrette in the second course. A Roasted Lamb Shank Cassoulet is the star of the show for the entrée, followed by an Apple Tarte Tatin for dessert.

In addition to a wonderful meal with gracious service, The Chef’s Table events also include beautiful table settings, fresh flowers, and creatively presented folded napkins, creating a wonderful backdrop for lively conversation and shared camaraderie among residents.
