Worth the Wait for Future Resident Club Member!

Margo has lived at The Manor at York Town in Jamison, PA, in lower Bucks County, for a year and a half, and she says she “feels like she is living in an elegant boutique hotel.” Two years ago, she visited The Manor with a friend, and joined the Future Residents Club because she knew she wanted a particular two-bedroom apartment. The right residence for her became available a few months later, and she moved right in.

When she was only in her fifties, Margo’s husband passed away. A year after that, Margo downsized from a large home in Blue Bell where she had lived for many years with him and their children, to a townhome in the Fireside community in Buckingham, PA. Later, she retired from an active career with Johnson & Johnson. She loved her townhome, but didn’t think it was the right place to stay alone during the years ahead, because by then, as she describes, “I had survived cancer and didn’t want the responsibility of a home any longer. I knew exactly where I wanted to go-to The Manor at York Town.”

Margo wanted enough space to be able to entertain her out of town children and grandchildren, and have room for them stay with her. “For holidays, I go to visit family at my daughter’s house, but for weekend visits, I wanted my grown children and grandchildren who live out of town to have their own room,” she explains.

Convenience and Comfort at The Manor at York Town

A short time after she moved to The Manor, she needed to have knee replacement surgery. “At that point, I was very grateful not to have stairs to climb in my former townhouse,” Margo says.Having a Chef and Dining Room an elevator ride away was also a relief. “It was terrific to be able to have dinner delivered to my door when I didn’t feel like going to the dining room, but when I wanted to join other residents for dinner, I could go downstairs in an elevator to eat in the lovely dining room,” Margo elaborates.

Enjoying the Best of Bucks County

Margo enjoys being in Bucks County, in the same geographic locale where she has spent so many happy  earlier years. “The Manor is close to shopping, restaurants and many other familiar places where I have run errands for years, so it is nice to still be in the same area in which I have lived for years,” says Margo. She and her friends enjoy going out to lunch, shopping or to doctors appointments locally. “If anything happens and I can’t drive, like when I had my knee replaced, and had to go to physical therapy, I can get a ride in The Manor Van to wherever I need to go, which is a real comfort,” adds Margo.

She says, “The people are very kind who work and live here. Everyone is so thoughtful, and offers to help in any way possible. It’s just a really good place to be.”
