March 17, 2021

The Manor at York Town’s Director of Sales and Marketing, Courtney Gawthrop, has been helping families make important decisions for over 20 years. Beginning her career as a social worker in retirement living, Courtney was given the opportunity to pursue sales and marketing in a local assisted living and memory care community.

“The company I worked for felt that my background in social work would be valuable for a sales and marketing position. As a social worker, you’re often working with families who need support in making various decisions about their loved one’s care. Making those connections and offering that support can certainly apply to the field I’m in now,” Courtney explains.

Courtney worked in sales and marketing at a local retirement living organization for 15 years. Open to discovering new opportunities, years later, Courtney came across a position in sales and marketing at The Manor. “I was familiar with Liberty Lutheran from working in this field for so long and I was very excited about the idea of working in an independent living community,” she recalls.

Courtney’s Journey with The Manor at York Town Begins…

Courtney began her journey as The Manor’s Director of Sales and Marketing in November of 2017. “My role is multi-faceted, and my main responsibility is to introduce prospective residents to our community and the many benefits they can experience while living here. As she helps families make important decisions, Courtney ensures their comfort and satisfaction throughout this transitional journey. “Making the decision to move to a retirement community can take time. I have many conversations with our prospective residents to help them attain the goals they set out for their retirement. At the core of my role is developing those relationships and guiding residents through this journey,” she affirms.
