Meet The Team! The Manor at York Town’s Facilities Director Shares His Story of Service

December 9, 2020

For Director of Facilities at The Manor at York Town, Bill McDonald, serving older adults has become a passion that has driven him to provide the best services for each resident. With twenty-two years of experience, Bill’s expertise and compassion have had a positive impact on everyone who has come in contact with him.

“I worked in facilities management with a number of different organizations, including Target and Princeton University’s Book Store,” says Bill. “But I was really drawn to the warm environment at The Manor. There is a sense of support, service, and kindness among the staff and residents here that made me want to become a part of the community.”

“I love working with the housekeepers and security team here, everyone gets along so well. I have been managing teams since my time in the Marine Corps, and it’s uncommon to find a group that is so invested, especially in making sure the residents here have everything they need.”

Finding The Manor: A Top Notch Independent Living Community

“I liked The Manor at York Town from the moment I interviewed here,” says Bill. “They maintain the building and amenities so well, the grounds and building are absolutely beautiful, and you can see the passion everyone has with serving the residents. A friend of mine recommended me for the position, and after meeting with the Executive Director, Wendy Petro, I never looked back.”

The Manor at York Town offers the best in Bucks County independent living. With a robust list of activities as well as a variety of local attractions, residents never face a shortage of things to do and enjoy around exceptional surroundings.

They appreciate everything that everyone in every department is doing to offer the best experience possible. For us it’s about service. Whether it’s putting up new blinds or preparing rooms for the winter months, I love getting to provide support for the residents each day.”
