Our Journey to The Manor at York Town: Two Couples Share Why They Chose This Beautiful Community
March 2, 2021
Joe and Lee have lived in the Bucks County area for over 50 years. After raising four sons, and retiring from their accomplished careers, their desire to downsize became a leading motivator in their search for a beautiful retirement community. “When you get tired of doing the same work around the house over and over again, you know it’s time to look for something smaller,” says Joe.
After doing decades of maintenance, especially lawn and tree work, the married couple were ready for an easier, more convenient lifestyle through their retired years. “I was also really tired of cooking every night,” Lee adds.
Moving to The Manor at York Town in August of 2019, cooking and lawn work became worries of the past as Joe and Lee both thoroughly enjoy the many amenities of this beautiful community and their worry-free lifestyle. “Our first impression of The Manor made it a very easy decision for us to move in,” explains Lee.
“I was really impressed with the openness, size, and the beautiful decor. When we toured other communities, the hallways were so narrow and dark, and there really was no space for people to get together other than the apartments themselves,” she says. “At The Manor, the hallways are wide open and bright, and the large central lobby and living room are so beautifully decorated, and a great place for residents and families to get together. The whole atmosphere here is just wonderful,” she emphasizes.
Luxurious, worry-free living with great food and great friends
With luxurious décor, spacious apartments and plenty of room for family and friends, the Krumenackers have enjoyed the many friendships they’ve made since moving in. “We’ve made great friends here. Everyone is very welcoming and all of the residents have close relationships with each other,” Joe reflects. For the Krumenackers, the Manor’s wide array of activities and events have been wonderful opportunities to spend time with fellow residents.
Whether they’re enjoying a game of shuffleboard in the courtyard, outdoor concerts with professional entertainers, or some friendly competition in Wii bowling, residents can enjoy their retired years participating in activities that suit their unique interests. “Whatever you want to do here, you can do it,” says Joe. “I really enjoy the daily exercise classes,” Lee affirms. “And I really like the water volleyball. We have a group of eight residents and we get very competitive,” Joe laughs.
When residents aren’t partaking in friendly competition, they thoroughly enjoy wining and dining with the community’s luxurious dining experience. “We have a beautiful dining room at The Manor with excellent meals. It’s especially convenient that it’s just down the hall from us. We don’t have to go very far for a great meal,” says Lee.
The Manor’s luxurious dining room is open at limited capacity to ensure residents’ safety amidst COVID-19, and meal deliveries are also available. As residents safely enjoy a wonderful meal with friends around the table, the food served by The Manor’s dining staff never disappoints.
Sourcing fresh, local ingredients, the community’s innovative menus delight residents with seasonal recipes that accommodate each person’s unique tastes and preferences. Two new residents, who moved to The Manor in October certainly agree.
Meet our new residents, Henry and Garon!
“We really enjoy The Manor’s food. It’s delicious. We’ve also been pleased with their take-out options,” says resident, Henry. His wife, Garon, especially enjoys not having to worry about what to cook each night, and is very excited to be served a delicious, gourmet meal in The Manor’s dining room.
Choosing to move to the community for reasons that extend far beyond The Manor’s delicious cuisine, Henry and Garon were also looking to downsize. “We previously lived in a 55+ community for almost 20 years,” Henry explains. “We had three bedrooms and a loft, and it just became too much for us,” he reflects. Tired of the upkeep and maintenance of their three bedroom home, the couple desired a smaller living space within the Bucks County region.
“We really enjoy the Bucks County area and it was very important for us to stay here,” Garon explains. Upon experiencing their first tour of the community, the couple was impressed with the Manor’s beautiful décor and living space, and their spacious apartments. “What really attracted me was the garage,” laughs Henry. “And what attracted me was the fact that staff can clean your apartment every two weeks,” adds Garon.
With individual parking garages that are easily accessible to residents as well as professional housekeeping services, Henry and Garon know a few residents who live in the community and helped motivate their decision. “A few friends of ours from church live at The Manor and a couple who used to live in our 55+ community, so that’ll be good to see them,” says Henry.
With plenty of friends and convenient amenities, the couple’s decision to move was very easy. When an apartment became available the Vogts were thrilled to confirm their interest. “We really didn’t want to miss the opportunity of getting our apartment. Who knows what would’ve been available in a year if we decided to wait,” Garon emphasizes. A wonderful opportunity has become their new home, and Henry and Garon greatly look forward to their easy, fun, worry-free lifestyle at The Manor.
